The Painter’s House Party
with Margaret Merritt & Barry Fletcher

If you are a well motivated and enthusiastic painter who enjoys
working in peaceful, atmospheric and relaxed surroundings with
stimulating company, delicious home cooked food, and an exciting
range of painting locations close at hand ~ then come and join
us at Glynhir Mansion in South Wales
We hold optional meetings every morning in one of the studios
for a brief exchange of ideas and location information sharing.
Margaret provides discussion and occasional demonstrations at painters
requests, and then we work together or alone and spend the day
in painting, meeting for meals ~ and in the evenings for friendly
candlelit relaxation around the log fire.
At the end of the week there will be a review of the painters
work and an exhibition.
As your host, Barry will be managing the day to day practicalities,
- as party Manager he will also be lighting fires and candles.
He suggests that we all bring favourite poems, limericks and short
stories to share, plus any other ideas for relaxing evening
activities.
Resident Artist – Margaret Merritt
Margaret is a resident teacher who specialises in workshops on
creative development for painters
Margaret works in adult colleges such as West Dean College and
Missenden Abbey. The House Party at Glynhir is unique since it
offers her the opportunity to work along side and share the experience
with other painters
Host – Barry Fletcher
Barry is a philosopher and practising therapist who lives in Snowdonia,
North Wales. His hobbies are writing poetry and climbing mountains.
He enjoys painting Glynhir’s beautiful landscapes, its
nostalgic energy and the stimulating company of other artists.
Barry works as co-tutor on a number of creativity development
courses with Margaret and has a special interest in the ways in
which creative energy is released in painters.

The Cost: All prices are based on full board commencing with dinner on your
first night and breakfast on the day of departure. All rooms are
single occupancy (double available) and are either in the Mansion
House or one of our cottages close by.
