Outdoor Photography with Nick Jenkins
I guess that we all have, at sometime in our lives, owned and used
a camera and been frustrated with our efforts. Too light, too
dark, heads or feet chopped off or our favourite aunt totally
unrecognisable appearing as a pinhead in the distance. All too
often we have our pictures back from the developers and wonder
why we wasted our time and money.

This course will help address these problems
and is aimed at all levels of ability. Nick Jenkins will help guide
you through the
various mysteries of outdoor photography. His course will explore
cameras, lenses, filters, films and other associated equipment.
Using the studio and the impressive grounds of Glynhir he will
explain and discuss the issues involved with lighting and composition.
Nick is planning, weather permitting, a field trip to our local
castle ‘Carreg Cennen’ that perches dramatically on
the craggy cliffs above the river Cennen and other scenic venues.
Participants are invited to bring samples of their work for a positive
critique.
The course will start on Friday evening with an informal get together
and a slide show at which Nick will outline his ideas and plans
for the weekend.
Nick Jenkins is a freelance landscape photographer and author.
He is an associate of the Welsh Photographic Federation and the
Royal Photographic Society. His photographing of wild and remote
areas has taken him to India, Nepal and Iceland. Nick’s talent,
enthusiasm and experience combined with his skill in teaching gives
him the confidence to say “by the end of the weekend each
student will be able to produce photographs to be proud of”.
